TAP, a social thanking platform, has launched a radio programme with the Hospital Broadcasting Association to bring messages of thanks to healthcare workers.
TAP (Thank And Praise) launched in January 2019 to enable the public to show their appreciation to the unsung heroes working in healthcare. TAP is always looking for new channels to actively support healthcare workers and share personal messages of thanks, and has found the perfect channel in hospital radio. TAP is partnering with Hospital Broadcasting Association, a national charity with a membership of 170 hospital radio stations, which supports and promotes hospital broadcasting in the UK.
Simon Gamewell, TAP’s Healthcare Advisor, is the catalyst for this campaign. In 2016 he had a life changing accident which left him in a wheelchair with a spinal cord injury. Like the founders of TAP, he wanted to praise the healthcare workers who worked tirelessly and selflessly to provide the care to aid his recovery.
Simon presents a one hour programme entitled “Gratitude with Attitude” which includes interviews with healthcare staff, messages of thanks collected through the free-to-use TAP thanking platform and positive stories about the power of gratitude. “This is another strong way to support the amazing healthcare staff working so hard for the UK public. TAP’s radio show is designed to bring smiles to all our listeners; patients, carers and healthcare workers,” says Simon Gamewell, TAP’s Healthcare Advisor.
There are 3 ways to support healthcare workers across the UK using the free-to-use TAP platform:
1. Thank a key worker privately
2. Praise a healthcare organisation publicly
3. Raise funds for a healthcare charity
During the COVID-19 crisis, TAP proved its positive role in the UK through collecting and sharing hundreds of messages of thanks for healthcare organisations from all around the UK (www.thankandpraise.com/digital-thanking-walls) and making the national and local news (www.thankandpraise.com/media-centre/).
