A leading Midlands care provider that specialises in providing support and care to people with learning disabilities and complex health needs has recorded more than 13,000 hours of saved time in staffing administration while saving more than £20K in staffing costs – standing them in good stead ahead of a challenging winter period for the sector.
iBC Healthcare, which offers day services, residential care, respite care and supported living services to people with a wide range of learning disabilities and complex health needs across Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham, is well prepared for the prospect of recession in the UK – having stabilised its staffing costs to save £21,000 while ensuring its quality of care is maintained.
Needing to fulfil vacancies that were exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, iBC Healthcare looked to utilise innovative care technology to help reduce administrative time and costs. The care provider, which specialises in supporting people with autism, down syndrome and other complex health needs, partnered with Care Hires, a staffing management provider, to help it deliver elevated levels of care at a reduced cost.
The move has seen the care group recently report annual savings of £10,000 a year on shift posting alone through the technology’s time-saving system, while also saving £11,000 on invoice processing.
Nizam Bata, owner of iBC said: “When we were feeling the squeeze as a result of the pandemic, the decision to go out and utilise care technology proved to be a gamechanger, with its implementation helping us to continue delivering high quality care to those who use our services, while enabling us to make big savings on our agency spend and admin burden. We now have better visibility of our costs and are able to fill more available shifts than ever before – which, given the current understaffing crisis in the sector, is set to put us in good stead during a challenging period.”
Speaking of its partnership with iBC Healthcare, Care Hires’ Director Suleman Sacranie said: “We’re incredibly proud that our success is something that benefits our clients and partners. If we’re doing our job well, then they are saving money and fulfilling more hours; it’s a very positive symbiotic relationship. That’s exactly what we’ve achieved with iBC Healthcare.
“Looking back at the past year, we have saved our clients more than £1.2million – that’s money that can be put directly back into the care home allowing them to focus on the important role of delivering high standards of care to residents. Our automations have also saved hours of admin time that would ordinarily have been spent manually locating temporary staff and fulfilling shifts. Meanwhile, our innovative approach has seen our agency partners increase in number, with 316 agencies and more than 4,000 staff now part of our network and sharing our ethos of staffing at a cost that works for the care provider, the agency and the worker. We’re excited to keep pushing forward and see what we can do not only over the next year, but over the individual weeks and months too.”
Care Hires has one goal; to support the nation’s care services through advanced technology and unparalleled service. Its AI powered system connects care providers to staffing agencies, providing care services with visibility and control of temporary staff usage, as well as the fulfilment of vacant shifts at a price they control. All the staff on its network are pre-vetted for compliance criteria and can only be put forward for shifts for which they are fully qualified and available, helping care providers access the temporary staff they need, quickly.
