Building on 25 years of experience, Essence Group is bringing a customised approach for the UK Connected Care sector
Essence Group, the leading provider of IoT-based advanced telecare solutions for seniors, have announced a new UK specific solution set, adapted from their Care@Home technology. Having produced over 50 million connected devices for elderly care, security, and healthcare over the last 25 years, the team at Essence SmartCare have tailored a solution for the unique needs of the UK TEC (Technology Enabled Care) and independent living sector.
Essence has been a member of the TSA for several years and is a regular fixture at industry events throughout the UK. With feedback from distribution channels and partners, they have customised their existing offerings for the UK market including integrating with leading telecare monitoring centre software and a multitude of digital connected services.
The solution set includes multiple communication channels in one hub (4G, 3G, 2G, and ethernet), suitable for the differing needs of the market. The system focuses on three main areas; communication, pattern monitoring, and emergency response with a selection of the most advanced digital telecare technologies available, such as:
Though this launch has been in development since before the pandemic, the challenges involved in elderly care during and post COVID-19 will rely more heavily on technology as a way of looking after some of the most vulnerable in society. Earlier this year, Essence’s technology was deployed at a care-home in Australia, integrating with thermal cameras to help reduce the spread of the virus – this is made possible by its open platform, which can easily integrate with bespoke technology deployments. Essence has also been instrumental in the opening of ‘Covid-hotels’ in Europe, remote-monitoring patients to take the burden away from ICUs.
“Essence Group has become a domain expert at technology enabled elderly care, creating millions of devices for the global market, however each geography has its own unique needs and nuanced ways of working.” Said Dr Haim Amir, CEO of Essence Group, “Our goal is to help elderly people live longer more independent lives, whether it is in their own homes, or a care-home environment. I’m extremely proud to be able to build an unparalleled offering to the UK Telecare market, which augments rather than disrupts the ecosystem whilst still offering the same high level of service that our customers expect from Essence SmartCare systems.”
Essence SmartCare is most advanced digital telecare LTE/4G connected care platform currently available to the UK, and is already available through Appello, one of the leading TEC providers.
