On Monday 7th September Academy of Movement visited Marham House. Academy of Movement, offers unique classes for all ages, teaching new skills and bringing lots of fun at the same time. The entertainment started with a riveting show of acrobatics, gymnastics, and spring-loaded stilts. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, but the fun was not over yet. Jan Gibbs Marham House home manager was invited to join in the fun, when she was volunteered to be jumped over by Guinness World Record Holder Ben, who received the record by completing 26 consecutive backflips in a row on spring loaded stilts.
After the show residents were taken back inside to learn some circus tricks of their own with Ben and Jamie whilst observing social distancing measures. The afternoon was spent learning new balancing skills with Peacock feathers and balancing plates, juggling skills.
Marketing Manager Alicia commented “The residents really surprised me, they participated in all the activities, and had some hidden circus talents.”
Lifestyle Manager Jackie stated “The circus was fantastic, Ben and Jamie were brilliant with the residents, everyone had a great afternoon. Thank you to Academy of Movement for coming into Marham House,”
One resident commented “I really enjoyed watching the circus, it was different, I haven’t seen anything like it before”.
