Yes, that’s right, Trojan Bins have developed a new all plastic sack holder, but wall mounted and hands free, with an internal liner and attached bag catches. So how did this new design come about you might ask?
Trojan Bins are a supplier of all plastic sack holders to the NHS sector and are on the Healthtrust Europe, NHS Scottish Sack Holder and NHS Supply Chain frameworks.
While on numerous visits to Hospitals Gary Stainthorpe, their Sales Manager, was asked by many trusts whether they could supply an all-plastic wall mounted unit.
Gary takes on the story. “Facilities and housekeeping departments were finding space limited in hospitals, in particular single rooms, en-suites, treatment/consultation rooms, etc, and having bins floor mounted was taking up valuable space. So, we were asked if it was possible to supply a unit fixed to the wall, which was also hands free. After some serious head-scratching we found and developed a unit which satisfied the criteria and could be opened primarily with the knee, although hands and elbows could also be used”.
As requested, the units are all plastic, manufactured from ABS plastic in fact; a plastic ideal for a busy healthcare environment.
Gary again. “We made a decision to stop manufacturing the outdated technology of metal sack holders some time ago, so this new range fitted ideally into our current philosophy”.
As with Trojan Bins current FUSION all plastic removable body range of sack holders, this new range is also easy to clean and maintain. The surfaces simply require a wipe down clean and that includes the use of any current cleansing agent utilised by the NHS and up to a 10,000 ppm solution.
Units can also be steam cleaned (wet or dry) and jet washed with no detriment to the plastic and can be left in place when fogging (hydro peroxide) cleaning regimes are used.
