In the three years since the Residential & Home Care Show last took place, it would be an understatement to say a lot has changed. There is now more to discuss and debate than there’d ever be time for at several months’ worth of conferences!
The general public’s understanding and appreciation of the work undertaken by those on the frontline in social care has grown tenfold during the pandemic, which is largely due to social care being at the forefront of the UK’s response to Covid-19.
In addition, the political understanding has also grown and though promises of more funding for social care is welcome, they come with the fear that money will be swiftly consumed by the NHS.
At the Residential & Home Care Show 2022 we’ll discuss social care funding and cover the issues that aren’t going to be resolved easily, namely around recruitment and workforce retention. There are no magic solutions, but we’ll cover the practical advice and strategies you can employ to reinvigorate and protect your workforce as we emerge from this pandemic.
In many areas, there is a growing confidence in social care, and we’ll provide a platform to those with innovative and technological solutions which can improve standards of care and make your operations more efficient.
We’re very proud to work with key organisations in social care such as Care England, the National Care Forum, and many others with luminaries such as Vic Rayner and Martin Green sharing their insights and wisdom for the sector.
We’re also delighted that our speaker programme is truly diverse and ensures that the voices from the social care sector are heard, who previously may not have had the opportunity to speak. Equality, diversity, and inclusion are essential in the context of workforce development, and enacting cultural change in social care, which can lead to improved standards of excellence.
Most of all, we’re very aware that for a sector that has struggled in so many ways over the last two years and is now emerging and facing up to even greater challenges, a sense of hope and a sense of community can only truly be offered by attending in-person events. The opportunity to network with friends and colleagues, to learn and share best practice is incredibly valuable, so we hope you can all join us on 18th – 19th May 2022.
