Radfield Home Care, an in-home care provider has scooped a major award at the 2019 bfa HSBC Franchise Awards, for the outstanding support they give to the community.
The Shrewsbury-based team picked up the Emerging Franchisor of the Year accolade at a glittering ceremony on June 27 at the Vox in Birmingham.
Radfield Home Care began as a residential home in 1982 in Shrewsbury. The company became an in-home care provider from 2008, acquiring its first franchisee in 2017.
After launching a 20-day training programme for new franchisees, as well as implementing a Caring for Carers pledge, the employee retention scheme has seen staff turnover rates fall as low as 11%, compared to the social care average of 37%.
Hannah MacKechnie, cofounder of Radfield Home Care and a qualified GP, said: “Having grown up around residential care, I understood the complex needs of the elderly, which is why Radfield Home Care recognised at home care was the route forward.
“Our vision was to meet the needs of the ageing population across the country. Franchising has given us the opportunity to do so ethically and quickly. This award shows we are truly providing both exceptional service to our customers and working in a truly ethical manner for our franchisees and all staff.”
The awards ceremony is the flagship event in the franchising calendar and recognises businesses that operate ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff.

Radfield Home Care managed to beat competition from two other shortlisted companies: Access4Lofts, a loft conversion storage company, and Award Leisure, a luxury outdoor retailer, to claim the prize.
