‘Aura Care Living’ launches campaign to end loneliness this Christmas in association with charity ‘Re-engage’
Aura Care Living, one of the UK’s most luxurious and award-winning care home and retirement village companies, is delighted to announce the nomination of ‘Re-Engage’ (formerly ‘Contact the Elderly’) as its chosen national Charity of the Year, launching this November. The campaign that will be rolled out will have a focus on loneliness in the elderly, with the aim of working towards combating the ever-increasing issue of isolated living in people over 65. Re-Engage’s objective as a charity is to reduce the impact of isolation, enabling elderly people living alone to enjoy a better quality of life.
The campaign will kick off with a big initiative this Christmas where Aura Care Living will be offering a free two-night stay in each of its’ Care Homes for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day nights. The chosen nominees will be invited to stay at each of the care homes from mid-morning on Christmas Eve, in time for a delicious lunch; right through until Boxing Day morning. They will be cared for by some of the best staff in the industry and eat award-winning food, and all in fabulous luxury surroundings. Right: Aura Care in Cirencester
Both homes opened up nominations from 01 November 2019, which can be found online here: https://www.auracareliving.com/reengage-aura-care. Aura Care Living is inviting people who are over 65 years old, who they know will be on their own this Christmas. You can nominate a friend, loved one, family member or neighbour to be awarded this wonderful festive break. Ladies and Gentlemen best suited for these nominations are elderly people with no family who live alone and find it difficult to cope; and elderly people who have become more and more isolated over time, with families living abroad.
Aura Care Living will assess each nomination form and contact a shortlist for a pre-assessment. Those nominees who don’t qualify will be welcomed by Re-engage to take part in their Community Christmas campaign. The campaign helps isolated older people to find Christmas events they can attend in their local areas.
In addition, Aura Care Living will notify these nominees of their own community events that they host ongoing throughout the year in each of their Cirencester and Camberley homes, to help combat loneliness. These events include Sing-A-Long Choruses, Magic Moment Cafes and Cheese & Wine Nights, and offer local elderly people the opportunity to regularly engage with other people living in the same area, and create new friendships.
Nominations for the Christmas Campaign for places in the care homes close on 2nd December 2019.
More about Re-Engage’s Community Christmas initiative:
Most people love Christmas, but not everyone gets to enjoy the day as much as they would like. In fact, for some people it can be a lonely time. The whole idea behind Community Christmas is to make sure that older people have a place to go to celebrate the festive season.
