LanguageLine Solutions, who have provided on-demand telephone interpreting services to healthcare organisations worldwide for over 30 years, are to make a significant donation of up to £1 million to help with the drive to protect NHS healthcare workers across the United Kingdom.
LanguageLine will be donating funds to Direct Relief, an organisation that supplies personal protective equipment (PPE) to health workers, and NHS Charities Together in the UK, which is a membership organisation representing, supporting and championing NHS Charities. It provides a forum for nationwide fundraising and advocacy campaigns; specialist advice and guidance; bespoke conferences and training opportunities, as well as access to online resources and support through exclusive member pages on its website. NHS Charities Together also provides the collective voice of NHS Charities on a National scale and the impact they make.
LanguageLine announced the news in a letter to clients, that it would dedicate a portion of the revenues it earns globally from the healthcare sector in April to both charities, up to £1 million.
Vanessa Eke, LanguageLine UK Managing Director, said: “Because of our partnerships with healthcare providers large and small across the UK, we are keenly aware of the dangerous and pressurised conditions in which they are operating. We have no hesitation and indeed feel privileged to be able to offer support in this way”.
