Compliance management for complex estates – what a challenge today!
However, the future will be very different and, with Seeker 10, the future is here now.
The data-centric world of compliance has often been the poor relative with minimal investment, whilst other sexy new operational technologies have been rolled out. Consequently, many Trusts still toil with complex Excel spreadsheets, generating historic compliance data which is extremely hard to analyse. Those legacy solutions incur minimal software cost but their associated resourcing in terms of time and effort is relatively costly, with expensive staff toiling on a mountain of information. COVID has exposed further the weaknesses of the current ways of working: e.g. when detailed information has been requested by NHS strategists on Isolation and Ventilation assets, it has often been out of date or even lacking!
The need for easy access to both reliable and consistent compliance information has never been greater.
Over the last two years, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust have been working with Invigilatis on Seeker 10 to meet their compliance challenge. During this period, there has been a continued focus on the impact of Human Factors on data-gathering processes, considerable time to has been spent to ensure that Seeker’s user interface is optimised for both operators and managers. The enhanced usability of Seeker Mobile facilitates data capture which and that ease of use further ensures data quality. Whether inspections and checks are done by inhouse staff or external contractors, the Trust now has access to reliable, real time information about every asset and location, and their entire operational histories. Managers are fully aware of compliance (levels and trends), and the timeliness of the completion of remedial work.
Seeker 10 provides considerable operational flexibility and Trusts can either continue with their existing inspection regimes, or move to national standards such as SFG20. Operational effectiveness is also improved:
Trust’s wishing to trial Seeker 10 are welcome to set up one building – with no service charge for the software – and explore how the system will work for them. Whether being pushed by staffing shortages or pulled by the needs of senior managers expecting timely information, Seeker 10 will facilitate control of the vital task of compliance management: it is key to everyone’s safety.
