The new plan lays out the expected £20.5billion in funding that will arrive in the health service by 2024 at the latest. This new funding is the catalyst for this long term plan as Theresa May sought a spending plan for the money in order to confirm that it will get to the areas that need it most, with a distinct drive for more funding in mental health, with £2bn put aside for this rising issue.
This £2bn injection to mental health will provide much needed relief for the NHS, by increasing support in schools and 24-hour access to mental health crisis care via the NHS 111 service. As of 2019, The European Neuro Convention will feature an all new Mental Health focus area with a dedicated speaking theatre. This is inline with the increasing number of mental health related cases. This new area aims to provide the sector with the latest mental health related products and services.
