Since 1987, Dreamflight has been enabling children with a serious illness or disability to encounter the holiday of a lifetime without their parents to Orlando, Florida. The organisation believes that fun and joy are just as important as medical research and equipment – especially for children who perhaps cannot wait long enough for the breakthrough they need or whose illnesses and treatment have brought pain, distress and disruption to their lives.
Each year Dreamflight puts together a team of personnel comprising volunteer doctors, nurses and physiotherapists. The team travel with a host of specialist medical equipment to ensure the welfare of the children, one of the essential pieces of kit being a transport ventilator.
Dräger, an international leader in the field of medical and safety technology has proudly supported Dreamflight over several trips with the donation of an Oxylog 3000 plus transport ventilator, and the 2018 holiday is no exception.
The Oxylog 3000 plus offers high performance ventilation and an easy to use interface. Its compact and robust design makes it a perfect fit for the Dreamflight team, many of whom will have had experience with the device in their day to day work.
Marketing Manager for Respiratory Care at Dräger, Lesley Youren, comments: “We have seen in the past just how impactful this type of holiday is for the children and their families. We are so pleased that we can once again support Dreamflight and help make a difference to these young people’s lives.”
